Okay, I'm kinda laughing because at first this title said "Do you rinse your meat?" and it just sounded all sorts of wrong. Anyway, last week I made spaghetti with meat sauce and my sister-in-law was standing in the kitchen when I ran water over my browned hamburger and then dumped it all in the strainer to drain with the garbage disposal on. Her eyes about popped out of her head and asked what the hell I was doing. I thought it was perfectly normal? What about you guys? "Do you rinse your meat??!?"

Not so much to drain the fat because I cut it all off. I rinse my meat before it's cooked more to get the slimy skin stuff off. I've never done it with ground beef.
1I rinse raw chicken, but nothing else and definitely not cooked ground beef. I press it in the colander to squeeze all the excess grease.
2I do that with my cooked ground meat too.

4I rinse my raw chicken too. My mom was a cooked ground meat rinser, so apparently it's hereditary.
5I used to rinse ground beef until I moved in with my grandma. She yelled at me for "washing all the flavor away" so I stopped. Nowadays I just use ground turkey.
6If you rinse it all the flavor leaves. I can see draining it away (excess liquids) but not rinsing it! ewwww I hate ground turkey and would NEVER use it. Try a leaner ground beef and you won't have to rinse. I always grind my own beef with sirloin or lean cubed steak.
7I have drained off excess grease if too much came off of the meat but I have never rinsed it. I would think that it would wash away all the seasoning
8The only brand of ground turkey I will use is Jenny-O. Even Trader Joe's ground turkey is nasty. Gristle and bone bits, blech. But Jenny-O is just meat, good stuff.
9Yeah I always rinse my meat especially chicken I also use lemon juice concentrate or vinegar to disinfect chicken NEVER use it for red meat it will make it hard but red meat I rinse but not too much my mom told me the same that the flavor will go away if you rinse excessively. You are perfectly normal...lol

10never rinse... I only use extra lean ground beef so there isn't usually a lot of grease leftover. Or I might cook the hell out of it, lol!
11I usually buy extra lean ground beef, so there's not that much fat left. But, seriously, why would I want to get rid of all the flavor? Just use turkey or bison if you don't want all the fat.
12No, I don't rinse it, but the meat cuts in my country are different from the US, so I can't give a good opinion about this question.
13I have heard of this but no I don't do it, like everyone else who said for the flavor. I also don't drain ALL the fat either and sometimes I won't bother to drain at all.
14Never rinse the fat out, but drain it! Rinsing the meat loses flavor, while draining will still help it retain flavor, AND moisture.
15I rinse raw chicken but that's it. I've never actually heard of rinsing cooked ground beef. I would think that would probably rinse off whatever you seasoned it with.
16i've rinsed all my meat...and canned tuna if its been in oil.
17Normally when I make spaghetti, I don't season the ground hamburger...so after I rinse/drain I just put it back in my pan and add the sauce... so I'm not losing any seasonings. I guess I only do it when I'm making spaghetti and (god forbid) Hamburger Helper. I always use very lean meat, so there's normally not much stuff to drain, but I do it anyway.

I don't...but I try to use ground turkey breast as much as possible and there really isn't much fat to drain off.
20Nope because I think it rinses the flavor away. I just really drain it and sometimes will press a few paper towels onto it to help soak up the grease better.
21I rinse meat before cooking and drain the fat after cooking. I've never heard of rinsing meat after it's cooked though.
22I've never rinsed cooked meat but just try and drain as much fat as possible by straining with towel. I do rinse raw chicken and fish just to feel less slimy. I have thought about rinsing my ground beef before I cook, but it just seems like it would lose something since it is already ground up- kinda kooky, I know.
23I season my meat as it cooks specially since the best time to season anything is when it is cooking. Plus I always cook my meat with onions and garlic so I would not want to rinse any of that away. Plus wouldn't rinsing the meat after its cooked cool it off too much and even dry it out?
24I wash all my meats before cooking but I do not re-rinse them after I have cooked them. I would of just drained the grease off.
25As long as my dry food is cooked, it should never touch water. I hate the yucky taste. Maybe you should try buying those tissue paper that can actually absorb the oil. I use those kinda towels and squeeze the oil outta it.
26I rinse pork and poultry and also seafood before cooking but not beef, never rinsed anything after cooking though.
