We got this blender a cpl of years ago, thinking that since the stand mixer works so well, it would be the same with the blender. BUT since the beginning it was a pain in the butt! The sucka always leaves me with chunks of fruits in my smoothies. If I do want everything perfectly blended I have to blend for so long that the engine heats up and starts smelling weird.
I have had to change those plasticky thingies called coupling twice already ugh! And I had to buy them someplace else because their website do not sell small parts. STAY AWAY FROM IT GUYS!
I am in the look out for a powerful nice looking blender so whatever suggestions will be appreciated.

You know, I was looking at this blender once upon a time and I thought for a Kitchen Aid it didn't look too advanced.
I have the Back to Basics brand it's not this exact one and it came with two different blending containers and it was not expensive at all. We get compliments at parties all the time because it has major power!

2awesome suggestion Layla, thanks! I can't believe we paid over 100 bucks for this piece of crap... I'm bookmarking the B2B

4wow shiloh! i thouht kitchen aid was good.. what a bummer!
5Oh the B2B is like the Magic Bullet (c'mon, youve seen the infomercials). The magic bullet has crazy power too. Like insane. You can find cheap ones online at Ebay. The only sucky thing is you can only make small things at a time--smoothies, mixed drinks, grating cheese, choco mousse, etc.
6Our blender broke last year (aka we made too many margaritas, had some slippery hands and now have shattered glass) and so we're also in the market for a new one (I've been "borrowing" my sisters ever since).
I've read some good things about the L'Equip RPM Blender (I believe cook's illustrated ranked it #1 and I think Alton Brown uses it on newer shows), but haven't actually seen it in person. Any of you ladies ever seen this one?
7oh wow yumsugar, this blender looks like something from outer space, I'm looking forward to some popls revs too, thanks! I have also heard good reviews about this german brand... bohr... bosch??

8I'm thinking that the B2B would work great as a bar blender

10The B2B is way bigger than the magic bullet though.
and it is great for mixed drinks Shi! It chops ice like crazy!!
Only thing is the blending container is plastic, not glass. Which I think is great for parties (ahem Yum and your slippery hands)
11I'll go check that out in person at Target Layla, I'm curious now... I do like the fact that it chops ice easily because that's the only way to make margaritas!

12Crispet.. I got a Magic Bullet from my step mom for Xmas.. and I don't know how I lived without it! LOL! I have been making salsa, hummus, tzatziki, margaritas, grinding coffee.. you name it.. everyone should have one!!!!!!

World was on fire and no one could save me but you.
I should have one! that's the one that comes with the mugs, right? I think the magic bullet does a good job at chopping garlic too.

14I hate the Magic Bullet. Too small, too many chunks. I have a Pillsbury blender and it works just fine. For half the price of a KitchenAid you can get a Black & Decker at Target, but I don't know how well it works.
15I just moved into a new apt. I need to buy appliances. I won't be buying any made by them that's for sure.

17LOL yeah that got me too karma.
18magic bullets! who names these things hahhhaaa
19Thanks Shiloh. I would have bought this blender eventually if I had not read your bad review. I always wanted a kitchen full of Kitchen Aid products. I have never had any luck with blenders. This one was my hope! LOL! You are really funny.
20black and decker is always a good option. i have a black and decker belgian waffle iron and man it makes some yummay waffles!
21my ladies!! I promise to be on today, i had a hard day yesterday and the day before so not much popping _p
