i'm a bit of a throw-in-what-you-have kind of cook.

Here are some of the favorites to throw in the recipe...
tomatoes (duh)
cilantro
green onions
tomatillo
salt and pepper
chili peppers or jalapeños if you can handle spicy...
i also like to throw avocado into my salsa
pineapple also give it a fun flavor - although i do not think that was what you were looking for, if you add it with a spicy pepper, it should be good.

It was basically Natty's rec but w/o the green onions, tomatillo or avocado. I just add onions, everything chopped, season with lemon juice, salt, pepper and cumin (the mexican flavor) to taste and mix, let it sit in the fridge for a cpl of hours so the flavors can blend and ready to eat

Twinkle posted an awesome one a while back with her Chili Chicken recipe. The hubbin and I eat it all the time with grilled chicken breasts. I'll try to dig it up for you...

They arent in yet but should be soon. She planted them later than she did last year but we had a ton of tomatoes last year. OMG they were sooooo good. I haven't been able to eat tomatoes the same because I still remember what they tasted like!

I'm mouthwatering just thinking about them PAM my SIL buys from a local farm and they are also fresh. Her recipe is the one that I wrote... I have never had a more delicious salsa yuuuummmm she keeps them on the counter to maintain the juiciness and intense flavors.

Now I want homemade salsa. I make it the same way as Natty, but without the avacado (which I will now be trying). I also agree that store bought tomatoes are nothing compared to homegrown ones...yum!

Oh I also add lemon or lime juice to mine (not sure why, but I just do).

I'm getting so hungry here!
