Because my friend and I cant contain ourselves when it comes to baking, we had another go at the whole I Heart Candy challenge. This weekend we got together and made some tasty cupcakes and a refreshing cocktail. Yahoo!
Each cupcake is from a simple yellow cake batter with a mini Snickers bar inside (be sure to dredge the candy in flour and submerge into the cupcake--that way it wont sink to the bottom of the liner). Then we decorated the cupcakes with some candy and colored icing we hand-mixed.
Garden Party: a flower and a ladybug

Fun Times: a rainbow cupcake and a homage to Vegas

Cutesy Cupcakes: pink coconut and green with purple sprinkles

Politically Incorrect: Tom Cruise the alien and a little China-man (it was my friends idea and its ok cuz shes Asian)

Be Happy: a flower and a smiley face

Ive named this cocktail The Gummy Worm. You know those red and clear gummy worms, right? This drink replicates the flavors of that type of gummy. I rimmed the glass with sugar and mixed together some cranberry juice, pineapple vodka, and maraschino cherry juice on ice. Garnish with a lemon, and youve got a fun drink!
I hope you guys liked seeing the creations Beamer1 and I made as much as we enjoyed baking them!

1I like the pink coconut and green sprinkly one the best. I made those.
And the alien couldve been better with some antennae. I realized this after it had been eaten.

These are really cute. I love the pink with the coconut and the flower one (next to the smiley face cupcake). The drink does look good. I'll definitely try it. I didn't realize you could put a little candy bar in the middle of a cupcake. You just make sure you cover the Snicker piece in a lot of flour, right? Then, put it into the center of the cupcake batter that is already in the muffin tin/paper holder?? My sister would love this recipe for her children's school events. Plus, she teaches at an Elementary school so, I know she is always looking for cute ideas.
6The cupcakes are SOO cute (and so yummy!)!!
