I'm going to attempt to make the spiderweb cheesecake Party posted the other day on YumSugar. I've never made a cheesecake before and have never used Oreos for a crust. So my dumb question is this - do I have to scrap off the cream filling from the Oreos?

2anytime I make an oreo crust, I buy the oreo crumbs that are already crushed. So, imo if you are using the entire cookie, I would take off the icing.
3Leave it there! I'd not made an Oreo crust before making PW's peanut butter pie, and it worked out beautifully with the delicious cream left on the cookie. Just as in her pictures, I threw entire cookies into the food processor and let it go.

4I agree with Moto. Leave 'em in and let the food processor work it's magic.

6Leave the filling. It actually helps bind the crust. At least for pies. I've never made a cheesecake either. I can't wait to see your pics!

8I made this before, and removed the cream from the cookies. If you leave the cream, then it is going to be in the crust. It was a hit without the cream.
9When I made this, I left the cream in. Tossed the whole oreos into the food processor. I hope you like it!
10I left the cream in because scraping the cookies would have been too much effort.
It's outside freezing right now since I didn't have enough room in my freezer.
