I can handle dinner parties and I can handle casual hanging out parties, but I'm having a sort of nicer-casual all girl party that I need to come up with ideas for food.
It'll be all appetizers but I don't want it to be all dessert, which is the only thing I can make. SO i need some suggestions of real-food type of appetizers that are small or even toothpick-bite size that are still quick, easy and super yummy!
Comme des Garcons
Bottega Veneta
Catherine Malandrino
Spinach dip, little smokies with BBQ sauce, miniature bagel pizzas.

1My sister got a really good recipe from a friend of hers. IT is Jalapeno Poppers.
2Get a couple of jalapeno peppers and split them in the middle and clean them out then place a teaspoon amount of Philadelphia Cream Cheese in the center of them and wrap them with a slice of bacon. Place them in the oven and cook until bacon is crisp. Serve. I made these for a Super Bowl party and they were devoured.
Nachos... are great... just get some ground beef, turkey or chicken and taco season cook according to the direction on the pack. Drain. In a caseroll dish lay chips then taco seasoned meat, then salsa then mexican cheese. Bake at 375 until the cheese is melted. Then top with sour cream.
3Or wingettes.... you can get the wingettes in the chicken section in the meat dept. Ken's has a great spicy wet sauce ( I usually find it in the bbq sauce section).
4i can def. do jalapeno poppers; ive never made them with cream cheese - just used cheddar in the middle. i'll try the cream cheese this time since i plan to buy a bunch for cheesecake anyway.
i love the nacho idea of the casserole. a bit better than simply salsa.
spinach dip definitely with some home-baked pita chips
mini pizzas would be good - i was thinking maybe bruschetta.
Q: would cheesecake bites be better than a whole cheesecake to serve?
so far these suggestions are great!!
5gnocchi and sushi mmm. might be fun to do a make you own sushi bar. also if you don't like raw fish i've made some really good vegetarian and vegan sushi in the past theres quite a few reciepes for it online, but i just made mine up myself.
6gnocchi served with marinara sauce? i didnt even think about that.
i think sushi might be a bit too much work/expense but i will keep it in mind. fish is a good suggestion though.
7MMMMM bruschetta sounds yummy! I would do a whole cheesecake versus the cheesecake bites; it will save a lot of time.

8Quesadillas are easy (I have a maker) so i just put out a variety of toppings and let them choose!
9That is a great idea Ragus! I have a quesadilla maker too and will have to use that idea the next time I entertain guests at my place.

10In a pinch, order out! Or if you have a Trader Joe's nearby, they have amazing frozen appetizers that you can pop in the oven, and they're really tasty. Good luck.
11Okay this is what I offered:
-Plain NY style cheesecake with an assortment of berries
-Homemade pita chips ((so easy!)) and a cucumber dip
-Sugar cookies
-Jalapeno poppers
-Assortment of veggies
-Croissants wrapped in chocolate (yum!)
Then people brought:
-Hummus
-Mexican dip
-Bruschetta
And I have a ton of food leftover!
