I know the name sounds deceiving, but it is my all time favorite Thai dish! It was my parents' first time having it and they kept asking for seconds, thirds, etc! Haha.
You'll need:
3 tbsp of oil (any kind)
1 clove garlic
1 lb rice noodles, cut into 3/4-inch strips
2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
4 tablespoons light soy sauce
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 lb baby broccoli, cut into bitesize pieces
1/2 lb large precooked prawns
1 egg
Directions:
Heat OIL in large wok.
Brown GARLIC.
Break up RICE NOODLE into oil and fry.
Add SOY SAUCES and SUGAR.
Spread out noodles and scramble EGG in center.
Add PRAWNS.
Add BABY BROCCOLI.
Cook until broccoli is at desired tenderness.
Serve immediately with chili sauce and enjoy with a cold thai iced tea.
Prep time: 10 minutes
Total time: 25 minutes
Yield: 4 servings
Here's the thing... I used chicken and I used more than I was supposed to because my parents always complain that my dishes aren't "meaty" enought. Also, I didn't have chili sauce and that would probably made it, but it's okay. It turned out fine. There's always next time!

Graham and Green

9Do you boil the noodles before? Or do they come pre boiled?
10Well Simran, I used egg noodles, so I had to boil 'em, but if you buy rice noodles, you don't have to.

24i have been trying to find a recipe for this for like, years.
AWESOME!
25UPDATE:
I cooked this again today, but time with the right kind of noodles... less garlic, more sugar, just lite soy sauce instead of both and more eggs. It was soo close to the one I always get at my fave Thai place! Yay! I'm getting better!!!
26this is always what i order when i am having thai food! thanks for the great recipe
27Thanks for the recipe. I love Pad see ew! Just sucks cuz i'm trying to stay away from carbs. I'll just make it for the hubby.
28Awwwwwwww I tried to make it this weekend but couldn't find the right noodles at the Korean market. They seriously had hundreds of different noodles but they were mostly Japanese. I was super disappointed! Looks like I'll actually have to make the trek out to get to the real Asian market.
29this looks yum yum!!!
~hl~
30Sounds good... except for the prawns (I'm vegan)! But I could easily substitute that with tofu or another meat substitute. By the way, I love the way you capitalized the ingredients in the recipe instructions; that makes it so much easier to read!
