First, let me begin by saying: worcestershire sauce, oh how I love thee. In marinades, salad dressings, etc., it's a wonderful condiment. I've always been a Lea & Perrin's girl myself, but as my fiance and I have merged our households, a bottle of Heinz worcestershire sauce appeared on my shelf. I opened the bottle and gave it a test sniff, and was appalled to find a weird, rancid-type smell. It was nothing like my beloved Lea & Perrins, and I was ready to toss it out, thinking that it had spoiled, when my fiance stopped me. He also sniffed, and said nothing was wrong. He insists it's just a different brand, but that it's OK.

So, my question: has anyone else had experience with the Heinz version? My fiance won't let me throw it out, but I'm worried that it has spoiled. Does anyone know if worcestershire sauce goes bad? I think if I could present him with evidence, I might get away with tossing it!

Thanks!
