I once read a tip in Cooks Illustrated but for the life of me can't remember the tip or find the magazine! I want my french bread to be crispy again! Any ideas?

Prehead oven to 375
Ingredients:
-8 oz cream cheese
-1/2 cup sour cream
-1 can green chilies, chopped
-1 can ham, chopped
-1/2 cup green onions
-2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
*Mix everything together well
*Spread in a large flat dish or pan
*Bake for 45 minutes
*Serve with french bread for dipping
